Security of Temporary Job

Hi, I am working for the HSE as an Orderly on a locum basis for just over three years. I am on a temporary permanent contract. Can I be let go from my job? Thanks, Tony

Hi Tony,   I presume you are talking about a temporary whole-time contract and the answer is that if you have three years full time work then you have rights under the Unfair Dismissals Act.    That does not mean that you cannot be made redundant if a genuine redundancy takes place but subject to that it looks like your job is secure.
