Stopping Sick Pay

If you received sick pay in a permanent role have the company any right to stop that sick pay without written or verbal notification? There is no written contract. Tom. Westmeath.

Many (but not all) employees are entitled to a certain amount of sick pay and after those minimal entitlements are used up then, if there employer chooses to pay beyond the minimum terms the employee is obliged to claim social welfare and surrender the cheque to the employer.
