Time limit on land dispute

Is there a time limit after which a land deal done through a solicitor for each party can’t be contested. John, Rathgar.

12 years under the Statute of Limitations is the time limit if the dispute concerns the property itself and not just minor obligations under the contract such as non payment of ground-rent (in which case it is usually 6 years from date of contract or closing of the sale whichever is relevant). If there was specific misrepresentation that should have been (but wasn’t) made known to the injured party at the time and it's just now being discovered then the time of might be extended by the courts under the "disabilities rule" set out in the Statute.

John, if this is worrying you (which it obviously is) you should talk to the solicitor who represented you at the time and discuss your worries so you can deal with it in an organised way for your own peace of mind. This should be done as soon as possible.
